Autumn Extravagance, watercolour on panel, 18 x 24" (SOLD)

"There is a wonderful parade of colour in the deciduous forests of central Ontario. Spring starts with pastel hues that fade to bright green. Summer gives us richer greens and bronzes. But it is autumn that rewards us with lush colours of almost every hue imaginable - red, flame, gold, peach, olive, maroon. It is tempting to collect a perfect sample of every one..."

Autumn Extravagance is an original watercolour painting, mounted on an archival panel with a UV-resistant and moisture-resistant coating, which protects the painting and allows it to be displayed without glass.

The archival panel is mounted in a black wood float frame. The three background rectangles of leaves measure 11"h x 17"w in total. The work is painted on a larger (18 x 24") sheet of 100% rag watercolour paper, which allows for a 3.5" white border around the rectangles. A spray of foreground leaves seem to 'float' above the background groupings, and strays onto the white border here and there. Framed size 19"h x 25"w.

This painting is valued at $800. and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Autumn Extravagance was awarded the Canada 150 Award by the PineRidge Arts Council at their Annual Juried Art Show.
