This painting won the 'Technical Skill & Use of Colour Award' at the Kawartha Art Gallery Juried Show. The Jurors remarked:

"Gloriously executed watercolour! Technical virtuosity is matched by strength of composition. We are given just the right amount of visual information behind those gleaming roses. The softened greens and blacks both support and project those flowers. Good stuff!" ~James Campbell, Curator and Executive Director, Visual Arts Centre of Clarington

"The composition and use of colour in this skillfully painted watercolour draws the viewer in to the very depth of the roses." ~Linda Jansma, Senior Curator, The Robert McLaughlin Gallery, Oshawa
