"This painting is from my Lake Superior series and features some of the exquisite beach stones I saw there. I added two Monarch butterflies and an autumn maple leaf to complete the scene. Soon the Monarchs will be flying south to their winter home in Mexico. I plant milkweed seeds in my flower garden in the fall, to help sustain future generations of this endangered butterfly."
Time to Head South is an original watercolour painting, mounted on an archival panel with a UV-resistant and moisture-resistant coating, which protects the painting and allows it to be displayed without glass.
The archival panel is mounted in a black wood float frame. The image is 16"h x 20"w and is painted on 100% rag watercolour paper. Framed size 17"h x 21"w.
