Whispering Waters, watercolour on panel, 24 x 18" (SOLD)

"This is the first major work in a series focusing on reflections in calm northern lakes. I love the rich blue of the lapping water and the misty background which adds a sense of mystery and contrasts with the clarity of the island.

The green canvas cedar strip canoe depicted in the foreground was made by First Nations (Huron) in Wendake, Quebec for Simpsons-Sears. My husband bought it in their store in 1963. We still have the canoe and it is a work of art unto itself."
